The Historic Environment Strategy for Yorkshire and the Humber Region 2009 - 2013 was published in February 2009 and is available to download below.
The production of this document is the culmination of 18 months of consultation with a wide range of organisations and individuals. After an initial workshop in February 2007, a consultation draft was published the following November. Over 60 responses were received from various organisations including regional agencies, Local Authorities, Civic Societies and a range of voluntary groups.
Following publication of the document, a further series of consultation workshops were held over the Spring of 2009. The workshops gathered views to inform the development of an action plan to support delivery of the strategy. A draft of the Action Plan has now been produed and is also available to download below.
This document has been prepared by the Yorkshire and Humber Historic Environment Forum. It has been developed through discussion with a number of different organisations who have an interest in the Region’s historic environment. A large number of issues emerged from those discussions and these have informed this Strategy.
The following Action Plans have been produced to meet the aims identified under each theme in the strategy. Each theme (with the exception of Theme D) has two Action Plans: immediate actions and longer term actions. Immediate actions are planned for the next year
or 2 years whilst longer term actions are spread over the next 5 years to 2013.
