Heritage Counts is prepared by English Heritage on behalf of the Historic Environment Review Executive Committee and the Regional Historic Environment Forums.
Each year Heritage Counts looks at the role of the historic enviornment in wider social and economic agendas and this section of the site contains links to this research.
2009 research provides robust evidence that there is a strong positive link between historic environment and how people feel about where they live – their sense of place.
