English Heritage (EH) and the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) have announced funding of £7 million to help restore 68 historic Grade II listed places of worship in England. Places of worship from a range of faiths and denominations are set to benefit from the grants as part of the organisations’ joint Repair Grants for Places of Worship programme, which supports urgent repairs to the fabric of listed places of worship, with priority given to single repair projects costing less than £250,000.
Regional buildings set to benefit include Hope Baptist Church in Hebden Bridge and the Church of St Mark in Leeds. A full list of all grants across the country is available here.
